block with 1st border received

Received the next block today. Lovely.  I have a few ideas simmering, and will give it a few more days before making the final decision on which one to go with.

Block with 1 border has arrived

I found the next round waiting in the mailbox today. It looks fantastic but I don't have much in the right colours in my stash. Will need to look at it for a few days before deciding if a shopping trip is required.

What she said

Like Kate, my next quilt has arrived (from Tami) and it couldn't be more different than the one I recently sent on (to Terry).

I have an idea which prompts me to ask about guidelines ... is it OK to add to this quilt-in-progress in such a way that it becomes less square and more long?

Edited to add, as usual for me on Round 2, I am already excited about figuring out how to finish the quilt top ... and wishing I could quilt it, too.

And now, for something not completely different...

Received my centre with one border to work on today, from Glen. Different from what I worked on before but not radically, which is fine, as it still means I'll have some idea what to do with it...but not yet!  Have to ponder it for a while.

late mail

Terri's package will be going to Rachel -- not too far away!

So, Rachel, expect it to arrive a bit late...

I'm still behind

I still have my block to do. I am on Spring Break and was going to do it now. However I got struck down by this horrendous cold virus that's going around my area. I've been laid up for a week, sitting in a recliner. I have had no energy to even quilt!

Today is the first day I feel well, hurrah! I feel like quilting, double hurrah! My first project is to finish my block. I have it all planned out, just need to do it.

My apologies for being the last person to get this done. Special apologies to the person who supposed to get this block next.

Another one made its way to the next step

On Monday I received the center block with 1st border. Of course it took until today to grab the time to post that info. (Monday was a guild meeting, Tuesday was a class with Cristy Fincher on paperless piecing ... too fun! and today was spent finishing up the binding on a baby quilt.) I'm not entirely sure yet what I want to do for the second border. I'm going to pin it up on the wall and just look at it for a few more days before I begin sketches.

Received a block with first round added from Marie today.  Only partially in my color palette - guess I must go shopping.  AW!

1st border mailed out

I had so much fun with this first border that I was a bit sad to see it go off to the post office. Now I'm curious as to what my next assignment will be.

I'm Alive, but late!

Well, here I was thinking that the deadline was the 28th! I'm on Spring Break this coming week. My plans for quilting my brains out started with my Cotton Robin block being done before, if only by one or two day, early.

My apologies. I should be able to quilt starting Monday. Of course on the two days of school I came down with a cold. My husband has forbidden me to quilt today; he wants me to rest.

I will get my block done by mid-week and send it winging its way to the next person.

Happy Spring!

I still need to hear from
Terri and
Terry with mailing updates for your first border...

Off to Princess Kate in England

My first round is off to Kate today.

The lady at the post office now recognises me.  She always wants to see what I have so I save sealing my packages until she can check it out.

Although for some reason she calls me Sharon.  Odd, I do have a return address label on my packages.

Another package on the way

I almost forgot to take the envelope that's been ready-to-go and pinned to the design wall for a while to the post office.

I sent it on it's way to Terry in California today.  Have fun!

Mailing / Receiving reminder!

We're getting really close to the March 20 mailing deadline, and there are a bunch of quilters I haven't heard from...  if you've mailed out the center-block-with-one-border and haven't told me -- please do!

If you're not done with the border, get to work!  If you think you're going to be late, please tell me now, so I can let the next person know.

And, please let me know when you receive the next project to work on (if you haven't already done so)

My envelope will go in the mail tomorrow -- to Liz.  No sneak peek this time, it would be too obvious.

block sent

My block  was sent off to California today!
Still waiting for round 2!!

I received my next package.  It is so perfect.  But I think I may know just what it needs!

I have two things to mail and wanted to wait to get both together in one trip. But that idea is fading fast.  So I will pack this one up and send it off tomorrow when I go to my Bonnie Hunter Fan Club meeting.

Sorry, I must be the last person out now.......alas poor blocklettes, I know you are eager to be off, poste haste.

Whew!!!! Finished my first border and got it in the mail today!!!  Can't wait for the next one!!!
I just mailed off the center with first border today to Terri.  Hope it arrives soon. We are expecting another snow storm overnight so I hope that doesn't delay it.

Also I have received the center with first border from Helen so I am busy thinking of the next step.

Sneak Peek/Border Mailed

Added a border to my centre today and parcelled it up to go out to Nan some time next week - probably take at least a week in transit, I'd think... Here's a sneak peek of a tiny section of it, with all the colour out, just to confuse...

Today I received the next round.  I'm loving that first border. Not sure what to do for second border yet. Guess I have time to think about it.

First border done and ready for sending

I really enjoyed doing this border and used it as an opportunity to experiment with a new idea I had. Here's a (hopefully) well-disguised peek.

I will be dropping it at the post office on Monday morning.

Sent my bordered center yesterday.  Looking forward to the next one!

In the mail....

The center block I recieved and added a border to hopefully made it's way out of town and is on its way to Maria.

Looking forward to seeing what I get next!

Me too

I'm often finishing at the last minute, but I had an awesome block and decided to work on it last weekend too.  Mailed it off today, but here's a sneak peak (sorry for the very weird angle).  My center block was awesome! I hope I did it justice.

I Was Inspired

I cannot believe it, but I pulled out the center I received yesterday afternoon and decided to get it out of the way while I had the time and inspiration.  I added the first round–it is quite simple but seemed to be what should come next. Choosing the right fabrics was probably the biggest challenge for me.

A glimpse of Quilt 1 - Round 1, in Black and White

It is all packaged up, ready to be mailed to Terry in a couple weeks (closer to the deadline).
