Anne and Glen are Just Gals Having Fun!

This is from Anne:

I've received my next piece to work on, and it's lovely, but
I am going to have to put it up on my design wall and look at
it for a while, I'm completely flummoxed as to what to do next!
It would be perfect as it is right now!

And this is from me:

I received my piece from Sophie!  What an incredible job you did!  I am glad you did this round because there is no way I would have done all that beautiful work!

It will be loved by me for a while and then worked on.

What will I do, what will I do, what will I do?????

round one comes to an end

Your "center block with one border" should be done by now, and in the mail by tomorrow.  I've heard from most of you about mailing and receiving, but not all...  if you haven't checked in with a status report in this round, please do so now!

a gentle reminder

As you start thinking about the border design for your next round, please keep in mind that we are making pieced borders.  Put a little effort into it!  A plain strip of border with a couple of little doodads is not playing the game...

just sayin'

1st border mailed out

Tomorrow morning I'm mailing off the center block with the first border. Obviously the image has been photoshopped and cropped to protect the innocent. ;-)  I hope the next person has fun with it.

Only the Colors have been Changed ...

Recolored appliqué detailI will be mailing my first quilt later today or tomorrow, depending on when I can pick up my car at the mechanic.

I added a ring of posies as my round 1.

All the colors have been changed in the photo ... to ensure any chance of anyone guessing that this is their quilt :-)

UPDATE:  This block + border #1 is on it's way to Glen, mailed earlier today (Saturday).

Block received

I just received my block today (it didn't take long at all to get here). It's so beautiful - I'll have to think hard about this one. Tomorrow I'll go digging through the stash to see what inspires me.

sneak peek of first border

I added a hot pink frame around the block and then a colorful piano key border!
I wonder what will come next...?

A Tease and an Update

I picked up the next quilt-in-progress at the post office today.  On the outside was a note from Nan saying she forgot to take a photo.  So here's a tease on behalf of Nan:

I am still working on the first quilt that I received and expect to mail it to Glen later this week.

Got my centre with one border today to work on - it's totally different from the piece I just worked on (which is fun  - I like it when things are different) and I think will have to sit for a while before I decide what to do with it. And I may need to have a bit of a dig in my stash to see if I have any fabrics which play nicely.  A challenge!  But in a good way...

The centre I just worked on will go in the post on Wednesday (I hope).

A tease

So today, I finally got around to putting a border on the centre block I received. I elected not to post a photo of the whole border, as I think it would be pretty obvious which block it went with and then it takes away some of the suprise, even with the centre covered. Instead, here's a tiny tease - this is a very small section of the little quilt - the photo is larger than lifesize - and furthermore, it's the wrong orientation. So even though you might be able to work out which centre I have, it won't give you any clue at all to what's going on.

Not sure when it will go in the post - definitely sometime this week.

My envelope will go in the mail tomorrow -- and I received my next round a couple of days ago!

Sent from Arizona

Anne of Quilting in the Desert has asked me to let you know that she has mailed off her round to New Zealand!  She wasn't sure how long it would take so she got it out a bit early.

(I was supposed to do this last night.......but i partied instead.......)

I won't be home for the next week, so if you are mailing to me in Louisina you can hang on to it for a while.

Viva Las Vegas!
