The Big Reveal

Of course blogger loaded all the photos in a different order than I had intended... but here we go! In alphabetical order:

This was Amy's block (there's supposed to be a secret code in the
block but I haven't figured it out yet):
And this was the fabulous creation of Julie H, Gwen and Glen:
Here is Andra's center block:
And here is the charming work of Andrew, Sophie and Laurina:
 This is Andrew's robin:
And the finished quilt by Jay, Mary Jane, and Julie W:
Glen started with a wild center:
And here is the work of Kristin, Kate and Mary Jane:
Gwen started with a charming lighthouse:
And here is the finished quilt by Mary Jane and Melinda
(Melinda did two parts of this one... it's a long story)
Here's another wild one, from Jay:
And the very cool finish by Kate, Julie H and Andrew:
This is Julie H's traditional center block:
And the finished quilt by Amy, Glen, and Kristin:
Next up is my center block (from a book of Japanese block patterns):
And the fabulous finish by Andra, Andrew, and Nan
 Here is Kate's intriguing center:
And the finish by Tami, Kristin, and Jay:
this one gets an extra photo of Jay's charming dragonfly embellishment!
 Here is Kristin's center block:
And the sweet quilt created by Gwen, Tami, and Julie H:
This was Laurina's center block -- is there a bird theme going here, or what?
And the quirky quilt from SOPHIE Amy, Julie W, and Gwen:
(sorry, Sophie!)
Mary Jane stared with another bright one:
And here's how it was finished by Glen, Andra, and Kate:

This was Melinda's wonky star center:
And a wonderful finish by Nan, Laurina, and Amy :
(a kakariki is a type of parakeet from New Zealand)

Next up is Nan's center block:
And the pretty quilt created by Melinda, Amy, and Tami:
Sophie started with an ambitious star:
And this terrific quilt was finished by Laurina, Nan, and Andra:
Last but not least is Tami's center:
And the quilt created by Julie W, Jay, and Sophie:

I hope you all enjoyed the show -- and working on the quilts!  I think they all came out really well, and I only gained a few gray hairs along the way...   be sure to post a link to this page so your friends can see all the results.  Once I decide I'm crazy enough, we'll do another round.

The Postman Visited Today

My quilt arrived today and I am so thrilled with how it turned out. Thank you everyone who worked on it. Thanks, too, for the lovely bundle of fabrics that came along. Since there was no note, I'm not sure who the generous quilter is. Could it be you Kristin? I'm loving these new goodies and can't wait to use them.

Hurrah! Everyone's quilts are done and I'm hoping to be able to post the BIG REVEAL by this weekend!

My quilt arrived in the mail on Monday. Sorry for the delay in posting, but my home is still in chaos in the midst of a reno partially caused by a water leak in my kitchen. My toilet is sitting in the dining room, painting and new flooring happening everywhere!
I love the quilting on it and the border colors were perfect choices.
thanks for doing such a good job, everyone!

I popped the last quilt in the mail yesterday, via priority.  I got home and found the little notecard I meant to add to it on my table.  Oh well.  At least it's in the mail.   I totally apologize for how long it took me to get it in the mail.  My world has been disaster on top of disaster.  I included some goodies for you, as an apology for the delay.

I hope you like it!

My quilt is here!

We timed it just right, returning home just before the mailman came to the door with a package this morning. It was my oh so lovely quilt. I absolutely love it and can't wait to take pictures of it to show it off. Thank you so much to Sophie for all the quilting on it. I'm envious of your talent. Also thanks go to Julie and Jay for the perfect borders. It's exactly what I wanted and more.

almost there...

All the quilts except one are now in the mail. Kristin, please let me know your current status!

Jay (I know you're out of town!), Laurina, Tami, Julie H, and Gwen -- be sure to let me know when you receive your quilts. I will do the big reveal once everyone has theirs.

So exciting

Oh, this is so exciting, seeing everyone get their quilts and hearing the ohhs and ahhs when they see the work.

I can't wait for the reveal where we get to see all the quilts.  I want to know where the ones I worked on went and how they ended up!

Thank You for my Lovely Quilt

I opened the package tonight, added my own name to the label, and am now enjoying my beautiful quilt.

Thank you to my quiltmakers:

On it's Way

Quilts Coming and (Finally) Going

I received a fat envelope in the mail from Andra--I assume it's my quilt coming home, but I haven't opened it yet ... because I haven't yet sent the quilt I am finishing.

Here's an in-progress photo of some of the last quilting stitches. On the left side of the photo, you're seeing the back (with some back art courtesy of one of the previous round-robiners).

The binding is on.  I'll finish stitching it down tonight so I can send it on its way home tomorrow.

I'm very sorry for the delay.  My trip to the ER soon after I arrived in Santa Fe was only the beginning of some health woes.  After waiting a few weeks for my new health insurance (from the new job) to be "in the system," I was waiting for an appointment with the only allergy practice here that is in-network.  It could have been a 2 month wait had there not been a cancellation.  Armed with an arsenal of prescribed drugs, I am at last starting to feel better.  It's funny: the process of getting the job in Santa Fe for the summer and deciding to move here was easy ... but since then, it seems that everything that can go wrong has gone wrong.

I am away from my house...have been gone for a week and a half and will be gone for another I don't know if I have rec'd my finished block yet or not.  Just as soon as I get home and get my mail collected, I will post if it has returned to anxious to see it and all the others!

I skipped my run this morning and got my quilt bound and in the mail.  Sorry for holding everyone up.  I am in the midst of cleaning out a classroom and moving my sister to a new house.

I have received my quilt and it is STUNNING!  Thanks so much!

My quilt is here!

I keep forgetting to post that I received my quilt a few days ago, and I love it a lot!  Thanks to Andra, Andrew, and Nan for the great work.

June 11 update

I think there are still three quilts that haven't been mailed... and there are a few that have been mailed that may not have been received yet.

Melinda and Gwen -- have you received your quilts?

I'm will continue to push to get those last ones in the mail and will keep you updated!

It is here!!!  I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To Glen, Andra and Kate, thank you so much for your interpretations.  It has a place of prominence in my office (since I spend way too much time here) so that I can continue looking and loving.  Thank you so very much!

My quilt arrived in the post yesterday, and it's a lovely piece all around, which really suits the centre block.  Thanks so much to those who worked on it.  And thanks to Julie for being a lot braver than I am in organising this round robin - I have thus far resisted organising one, so I'm really glad to have someone else do it for me...

I'm looking forward to seeing all the finished pieces and showing my own one off...

In the mail

My finished hanging was mailed about 1 hour ago.
It is a few days late, but that is mainly because my kitchen flooded 3 weeks ago today and life has been in chaos ever since. As I write this, the plumber is installing the new sink and dishwasher in the kitchen and the carpenters have demolished my bathroom. I'm hopeful that a working spa tub will be available tomorrow or Friday at the latest. Then the living room gets its turn. My sewing area is under an inch of dust......
When all is done, I'm sure I'll be thrilled. After all, I'm getting a major remodel at a very small cost. Hope the insurance rate doesn't skyrocket.

Almost done

I have finished all of the quilting and the binding and now I just have to tie off about 200 threads (eek!). I did not plan the machine quilting very well and started & stopped a lot - live and learn.

I have a good excuse for being late but am working hard to get this little quilt to its owner in the next few days.

Here's a sneak preview of the back.

My quilt is fabulous!

I have to admit, it was a difficult decision on the initial block, but it was the right one! My quilt hanging is so beautiful, I can't say enough about the wonderful people who worked to make it so special. I adore it! glen

robin updates

Several quilts have arrived home and most of the rest are "in the mail".  I need to hear from the following people with a status report, though:
