Anyone Game? or, Who Wants to be a Robineer?

The weather has changed to "sweater" so it must be time to start up a new round of robins...

See this post from last year for basic rules, and send a comment or email me if you want to join in. The more, the merrier, right?

If you've participated in the past and want to invite a friend or two with some quilting skills, please do.

Having said that, of course we're trying to avoid quality control issues!  It is expected that you can cut and stitch a straight line (if you're making something that requires straight lines!) and have familiarity with the various parts of making a quilt...

See you soon!

Julie

Why am I always the first one to jump on this bandwagon? I must just be the most excited! Let me give you an update on my situation. Our house had 31 inches of water in the Great Flood of 2016 in Baton Rouge. Lost everything. Literally. Including both vehicles and sewing room, all my antiques, my furniture, my new vibrating bed........you have no idea. We are rebuilding and living in a pre Katrina era travel trailer in our driveway, with no refrigerator or heat....and yes it is cold here at night. But on the bright side, I get to remodel my house and get all new stuff even though I didn't want new stuff. We hope to be in the house before Christmas so I should be good to go at least with a new sewing machine by mid January. I have to say that a number of my cotton robin pieces were on display at a quilt show venue that didn't flood, so most of them were saved! It was a trunk show within the larger show so it was a big group of my small pieces. I have posted every day since the flood in mid August if you want to go back and see any of the photos, or read the story of the flood and recovery. It has been both heartbreaking and it has been incredible. Your friends come from all corners of the world and surprise you with healing and love.

Well, it wouldn't really be a new year without some Cotton Robin deadlines, would it?! Count me in again - perhaps I'll actually get some sewing done this way...

I have not been involved in Cotton Robin, but I've read enough blog posts from several of you to know that I want in! Please, please?!

Hello, Ladies!! Every year I hope Julie will host Cotton Robin again, and every year she steps up! Thanks, Julie, I'd love to be a Robineer again in 2017. So good to see how many of "the gang" have already responded, as well as new folks! Welcome Mary 😎... and so sorry the Baton Rouge foods got you, Glen. Hope everyone else is doing well, and Happy 2017 all!

I'm jumping in again. Love the cotton robin nest -- and it's so nice to have new challenges.

2016 was my first Cotton Robin and I so enjoyed it. It hangs next to my bed and I have a happy moment every time I see it. There is plenty of space around it! I am in ... if you have me again.
