Finished first border

I have finished the first border and am ready to send it on. I will hold it for a week before I drop it at the post office. I thought I would show a peek of what I have done.

A little tease from Sophie

I goofed and got it in my head that tomorrow was the deadline and so–for maybe the first time ever–I've finished my round early.

It will decorate a corner of my design wall for a few weeks until it's closer to the actual deadline, but I thought it might be OK to share a peek (converted to black and white) at what I've been up to: a curve, some stitchery and piping.

All right, you speedsters!

Hi all,

The deadline for mailing your "center block with one border" is March 20 -- that's nearly a month away!  If you finish way early, please hold off mailing until closer to the deadline -- for instance, March 10 -- so that the rest of us don't end up with projects piling up, getting buried, and feeling guilty for not working as fast as you!

If you've already mailed this time, don't worry about it...

For the last round (quilted and bound, finished quilts) you can go ahead an mail them as soon as you finish.

Thanks,

Julie

& another on the way

the center that arrived earlier this month & the borders I added earlier this week are en route to the best street name EVER (it has a dog in it & a leg in it, but other than that my lips are sealed).  Look for it SAT-MON-ish.

Mine's here!

Arrived yesterday (and the lotto blocks, thanks!) - no idea what I shall do with it yet, but I shall look at it a while and let it tell me what it wants  :)

Nothing yet

I have not received my block yet but am diligently checking the mailbox!
Maybe Tuesday as we have a holiday tomorrow!
Will let you all know ASAP!

Center block has arrived in New Zealand

I was away for the past few days but discovered my center block in my PO box today. I'm happily surprised how quickly it made it here. Now, what to do...

I got mine!

Sorry, got it earlier this week but we've had insane weather and the power issues that ice storms create.

The Envelope, Please...

I just got back from my first-ever quilt retreat and the Cotton Robin envelope was here! I'm all set to go to work on adding my first border... just as soon as I unpack all my stuff from retreat (what a mess! How did it all get so jumbled about in my car ??

blocks received?

Seems like all the "domestic" robineers should have received their center blocks by now...

I need to hear from the following people with confirmation:
Anne
Elizabeth
Kristin
Marie
Nan
Rachel

(apologies if you've already posted and I missed it...)
thanks,

Julie

Block Arrived!

A block arrived in yesterday's mail, and I am pondering what to do... how fun! Thanks for all your work on the organizing, Julie! carol e.

block assignments

It's so much fun to see your comments when you receive your center blocks! Mostly I parcel them out sort of randomly, but there were a few where I thought "so-and-so should really work on this one" -- and so it's cool to see when I've hit the mark...

Center received in Santa Fe

I have received the first package, too.  I picked it up from my PO box today and then joined a long line to mail a bunch of little valentine packages.  When the man in front of me in line said something about the wait, I told him I was going to entertain myself with my mail ... and I opened my package and shared it with him.  The time passed pretty quickly as I thought about what I might add.

This is going to be interesting ;-)

Block Received

Just got home from work and found an envelope with a lovely center block. Ideas are forming already for that border!

Am I first?

I guess I have no excuses for being late, not that I plan to be late (who plans to be late?)...

Let me start again:  the first center arrived this afternoon, which is not bad considering I live in near-to-nothing central Florida.  I took a picture & stuck it on the fridge (so I can keep the block clean- I live on a farm with too many dogs in the house after all).  & I made a promise to myself I will look at it at least through the weekend to let the person who made it sink in a bit.

Watch your mailbox!

Hi Robineers,

All of the center blocks went to the post office this afternoon!  Your envelope will include mailing instructions for the rest of the swap.

My printer went a little crazy when I was doing mailing labels for myself, so some of you will find my "extras" in your packets for some of the later mailings.

I do always seem to discover a bug in my spreadsheet (as I did last night) but I think I've got everything right at this point.  If you think there's something amiss, or just have questions, feel free to get in touch.

Please remember to post or email when you receive a package and when you send one.

You can post photos of your work only if you hide the center block or otherwise disguise it.

If you are mailing internationally, please make sure that it goes via airmail -- otherwise it could take a loooong time.

Have fun!

Julie

I probably won't get them to the post office until Friday or Saturday, but I'll let you all know as soon as they're in the mail.
