almost...

I'm just waiting for one more center block, which is coming from someone pretty close by and should be here tomorrow.  Then I'll post pictures of all the blocks!

Some of you have included notes and/or labels with your names on them, so I'm not going to make a huge fuss about anonymity this time -- but I still want to keep the progress photos discreet (if you choose to post them) so that the final quilt is a surprise to the owner.

Just a few other little notes/hints based on observations from last year:
  • take a second look to make sure your border is sewn on the way you meant it to be... if it's a checkerboard, did you get the squares in the right order? if it's pictorial, did you attach it right side up?  (and if you receive a project to work on and think there's something wrong about it, please ask instead of just plunging in!)
  • if you add a border with lots of piecing, please end by stitching a row of basting stitches around the edge to that the seams don't all come undone before the next person has to work on it!
  • be mindful that the finished quilts shouldn't end up bigger than about 20" x 20"; if you add a first border that's too big, the second person might not have enough "space" to design a nice border

Thanks,

Julie
