small change in rules!

Since I said it was okay to make your block 8" x 10" (which is 80 square inches) it seems silly not to allow it to be 9" x 9" -- which is only 1 square inch bigger!  So if you haven't made your center block yet -- or if it's 9 x 9 -- don't fret!

I received the first block today... will post photos once a few more arrive.

I hope to mail by early next week. I did not like the resulting block I finished yesterday. So back to the drawing board.

I couldn't believe it when I didn't like any of the options I had in my stash or in my scraps for one of the fabrics in my block ... and so I HAD to go to a quilt shop today ;-)

You do mean 9x9 finished size and therefore 9.5x9.5 unfinished right?

The original directions state "It should be no more than 8.5” square or 8.5” x 10.5” (unfinished size)"

I read that to mean it can be any size up to those limits. Am I interpreting this correctly? for example, I could make a 6.5" sq or a 7.5" x 10.5" if I wanted....

am I understanding the directions correctly?

Kristin - that was my interpretation.
